Ice Drifter Music Video

This string quartet piece was written to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the St.Roch Schooner, the first ship to successfully navigate the Northwest Passage.The video was filmed on the deck of the St. Roch in Vancouver, featuring the passionate Borealis Quartet.

In this piece, I wanted to capture the journey of the schooner through the Arctic waters with its sense of hope and adventure, but also the emptiness and desolation of the Northwest passage as the ship moves through ice.

This video was made possible by the Canadian Music Centre, and the Vancouver Maritime Museum.
